Band/Guard Uniform FAQs

**The uniform room will close 30 minutes before line-up (games) or bus-load (comps)

“Can I trade an item for a different size?”

  • Items may be traded by setting up an appointment with Mrs. Gallagher during the week.

    • Please EMAIL Mrs. Gallagher with your best availability from the options below:

      • Monday 6:30pm (After Practice)

      • Tuesday 4:00pm-5:15pm (Before Practice)

      • Thursday 6:30pm (After Practice)

  • Items may NOT be traded out for different sizes on Fridays before/after games or Saturdays before/after competitions. Please plan ahead and request an appointment if you’d like to switch out sizes.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to make sure you can do all choreo in your uniform.

“What if my uniform needs repaired?”

  • Please see Mrs. Gallagher as soon as you notice an issue with your uniform. (Even during a game/competition) Even something as simple as a loose thread can lead to a bigger problem if not addressed.

  • A different item may be loaned out while repairs are being made to your original uniform.

“What if I lost a piece of my uniform?”

  • All pieces of your uniform have a unique number that has been assigned to you in our system. If any of those pieces go missing at any point in the season, you may be financially responsible for their replacement if not found. (This charge will be reflected in CutTime)

  • Failure to properly return all pieces to your garment bag is not an excuse for losing an item.

  • A student should always check with your section and section leader to locate a missing item/bag BEFORE speaking with Mrs. Gallagher.

  • If the student has exhausted all other options, the student should speak with Mrs. Gallagher in the uniform room to be issued a temporary replacement until the missing item can be located.

“I forgot my compression gear.”

  • We do not have extra compression gear available to loan to students.

“I forgot my black socks.”

  • Crew height (or higher) black socks may be issued to students who fail to bring the proper length or color socks for a fee of $2 per pair. This charge will be reflected in CutTime.

  • Students do not need to return black socks as we do not re-use socks. These are considered a purchase and now belong to the student.

“I forgot my marching shoes.”

  • We have a LIMITED number of extra marching shoes that can be loaned out in case of an emergency. We cannot guarantee sizes, but will do our best to get a size close to that of the student’s typical size.

  • All marching shoes loaned to students are recorded and reviewed at the end of the event. If a student fails to return the loaned shoes they may be financially responsible until the shoes are returned. (This charge will be reflected in CutTime)

“Can I take my uniform home?”

  • In most cases, no. All items must be hung properly in your garment bag and returned with your shako box to your assigned uniform rack.

  • If there is a special situation in which a uniform must go home with a student, approval must be given by a director. (Checking a student out with a staff member after a competition is considered approval) Please NOTE: students do assume financial responsibility until all pieces of the uniform are returned.

  • DO NOT WASH uniforms under any circumstances! We appreciate your willingness to keep your uniform clean, but all uniforms will be dry-cleaned by a professional cleaning company.

  • Accidents happen. If your uniform requires special cleaning, please see Mrs. Gallagher or send an EMAIL letting her know.
